سيرة العلمانيين نحو المواطنة

لأن  17 نيسان هو أحد الشعانين لدى الطوائف المسيحية، ولأن مسييرة العلمانيين نحو المواطنة لا تريد أن تحدّ من حرّية المواطنين في ممارسة شعائرهم الدينية؛

ولأن 2011 هو عام استثنائي يشهد حدوث المستحيل؛

لأن شوارع بيروت تصدح بأصوات التغيير هذا الربيع؛

لأننا، في مسيرة العلمانيين نحو المواطنة، نطالب أيضا بالحقوق المدنية  والدولة المدنية والعلمانية؛

:لأنه الآن، أكثر من أي وقت مضى، ينبغي أن تتوحّد أصوات جميع المواطنين العلمانيين في لبنان

.لقد قررنا تأجيل مسيرة العلمانيين من أجل المواطنة إلى تاريخ لاحق يعلن عنه في أوائل شهر نيسان

وسنضّم في الوقت الحاضر أصواتنا الى جميع المبادرات السّلمية، غير المسيّسة وغير العنيفة التي تجري في لبنان للمطالبة بحقوقنا.

،معاً ومتّحدين ضد أي محاولة لاختطاف سياسي للمبادرة

معاً ومتّحدين من أجل إقامة دولة مدنية علمانية تقوم على المواطنة، تضمن التعبير عن التنوع في الوطن وتؤمّن العدالة الاجتماعية

معاً ومتّحدين من أجل الزواج المدني وقانون الأحوال الشخصية، من أجل المساواة المطلقة في الحقوق بين الرجل والمرأة، من أجل المساواة المطلقة في الحقوق بين جميع المواطنين اللبنانيين وإلغاء كل القوانين التمييزية، من أجل قوانين تحترم حقوق الإنسان الشاملة، من أجل قانون انتخابي جديد عصري وديمقراطي مستقل عن الدين والطوائف، من أجل نظام قضائي مستقل وقوي يضمن تنفيذ هذه القوانين، من أجل استقلال كل مؤسسات الدولة (السياسة والجيش والشرطة والصحة والتعليم والنقابات...( من جميع القوانين الدينية و/أو الطائفية،
معاً ومتّحدين من أجل احترام الحريات الإنسانية، حرية الرأي وحرية التعبير وحرية الجسد وحرية المعتقد وحرية الدين

ننضم إلى مجرى التاريخ ، والمجرى الرئيسي للتاريخ يجب أن يستمر من خلال كل واحد منّا. وهذا الاتجاه هو نحو مزيد من العدالة ومزيد من الحرية، لا الحرية المطلقة للثعلب في قنّ للدجاج. هذه الحقوق، التي تمت صياغة مشروعها في مسودة الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان في عام 1948، هي حقوق عالمية. إذا التقيت بأحد لا يتمتّع بها، تعاطف معه، ساعده على الحصول عليها

Secular’s march towards citizenship

Beirut, 15.03.2011

Because April 17 is Palm Sunday, and citizens shouldn’t have to choose between marching to support secularism and practicing their religion/ tradition;

And because 2011 is an exceptional year where the impossible is happening;

Because this spring the streets of Beirut are echoing the voices of change;

Because we, Laïque Pride, also demand civil rights, and a civil secular State;

Because now, more than ever, the voices of all secular citizens in Lebanon should unite:

We have decided to postpone the Laïque Pride march to a further date that will be announced early April.

We will now join our voices and presence to all the peaceful, non-politically affiliated and non-violent initiatives that take place in Lebanon to demand our rights.

Together and united against any attempt of political hijacking;

Together and united for a civil secular state founded on citizenship, guaranteeing the expression of the country’s diversity and securing social justice;

Together and united for civil marriage and civil status law; for absolute equal rights between men and women; for absolute equal rights between all Lebanese citizens and the abolishment of all discriminative laws; for laws respecting all Human Rights; for a new democratic modern electoral law independent of religion or confessions; for an independent and strong judiciary system guaranteeing the implementation of these laws; for the independence of all of the State’s institutions (politics, army, police, health, education, syndicates...) from all confessional affiliations;

Together and united for the respect of human freedoms, freedom of opinion, freedom of expression, freedom of body, freedom of belief and freedom of religion;

And this trend is towards more justice, more freedom but not this uncontrolable freedom of a fox in the henhouse. These rights, which program was drafted by the Universal Declaration in 1948, are universal. If you meet someone who doesn’t benefit of those, be compassionate towards him, help him to conquer them. "

We will never compromise on our rights and do not accept their violation by anyone.

The new date of the Laïque Pride will be determined according to the developments of the current movements and the overall socio-political situation in Lebanon.

Seculars’ March Towards Citizenship

Press Release 2011

"All the Lebanese are equal before the law. They enjoy equal civil and political rights and are equally subjected to public charges and duties without any distinction whatever." (Art.7 Lebanese Constitution)

We are Lebanese citizens who wish to live in dignity and equality with other co-citizens. Armed with public and private rights and liberties warranted by the Lebanese constitution, we mobilize for a secular state founded on citizenship, guaranteeing the expression of the country’s diversity and securing social justice, one of the main foundations of civil peace.

We call for:

- laws respectful of human rights, private liberties as well as gender equality,

- a strong, impartial and independent judiciary,

- a Lebanese civil code for personal status,

- the abolition of institutional sectarianism,

- the strengthening of education on citizenship.

The Laique Pride is a movement seeking to gather the different shades of the Lebanese secular fabric. The march is a yearly meeting to make our voices heard and to put a face on our demands.

The Laique Pride encourages and supports every movement and organization working towards a more egalitarian society. It does not claim or intend to substitute secular actions underway all through the year, but rather wishes to inspire new citizen initiatives in Lebanon.

We are a citizen movement that refuses any political recuperation.

On Sunday April 17, 2011, we will reinforce and continue the march together for a "Secular Lebanon".

Until that day, and every other day, each citizen is encouraged to participate within his field, whether you are a writer, a journalist, a teacher, a house wife, a designer, a musician, a cab driver, a politician, a lawyer… EVERYONE can put his hands in this cause to develop social consciousness.


During the march, the only flag raised will be the Lebanese flag.
